On instructions of Chief Commissioner G S Randhawa,the income tax department conducted surveys on doctors and industrialists on Thursday.

The team conducted surveys on the clinic of endocrinologist Dr Parminder Singh who works in DMCH,Dr D S Walia of Walia Hospital in Sarabha Nagar and self-styled doctor Balwinder Singh Pattiwale who runs many institutes apart from his clinic.

Apart from this,famous sweet shop owner Khushi Ram and Sons,property dealer Rana Chawla based in Dugri,Khanna Hosiery of Bharat Nagar and Raghav Woollen Mill were also surveyed.

Speaking to Newsline,Chief Commissioner Randhawa said,The surveys were conducted after market research and comparison with their I-T returns. We will be covering all segments and hence doctors are not above the board. More professions are also under the scanner. It needs to be mentioned that to meet the financial year targets,the income tax department has recently been conducting surveys on a regular basis.
