Controversial Crown Town set to take off

The 100-acre Crown Town coming up at Lalton Kalan will finally get a license from Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority.

The town, being developed by former Akali minister Garcha, will be inaugurated by CM today

The 100-acre Crown Town coming up at Lalton Kalan will finally get a license from Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) and the project is slated to inaugurated tomorrow by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

S.K Singla is the colonizer while the developer of this colony is Jagdish Singh Garcha, former SAD Minister. In the recent past,GLADA had issued notice to the colonizer for violation of Punjab Apartment Property Regulation Act (PAPRA) because the colonizer had given advertisement about his township much before even depositing license fee with GLADA and hence had invited customers to invest. GLADA had stopped all these operations.

Since then the dispute is getting murkier and the earlier scheduled date of inauguration of this project was September 18. But because the license was not given,so the function was postponed, revealed sources.

Although in routine, the GLADA officials take too long to clear the files before giving approvals, but in Crown Town case, they have been quick in disposing off the matter and interestingly LOI has already been issued in just three days’ time.

Additional commissioner administrator,GLADA,Indu Malhotra, while talking to Newsline confirmed,“No doubt, they had violated the PAPRA Act earlier for which even they were issued notice. But now they have deposited the fee and initially they will be getting license of 82 acres of land to be developed.”

Chief Administrator(CA),GLADA,AK Sinha said,“The fee was deposited last week only and now we have no objections. The letter of intent (LOI) for development of colony has already been issued.”
