The Ludhiana District Congress Committee organised a function to commemorate the Quit India Day celebrations at the Congress Bhawan here on Thursday.

LUDHIANA: The Ludhiana District Congress Committee (DCC) organised a function to commemorate the Quit India Day celebrations at the Congress Bhawan here on Thursday. The function was presided over by District Congress Committee Ludhiana Urban president Pawan Dewan and MLA Rakesh Pandey. The Congress Committee honoured several freedom fighters including Gurbachan Singh,Mohani Rani,Ram Krishan,Devki Nandan,Hira Nand Chopra,Isher Singh Sobti and Rajinderpal Sayal.

Janmashtami at Drishti school

LUDHIANA: Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated at Drishti Dr R C Jain Innovative Public School on Thursday. The programme began with a devotional song Hari hum sharan tumhari. Principal Gunmeet Kaur and Vice-Principal Jasbir Bal were present on the occasion.

Saplings planted at Ryan School,Dugri

LUDHIANA: A plantation drive was held at Ryan International School,Dugri,on Wednesday. Students planted many saplings. The school headmistress said the purpose of the drive was to develop a creative and constructive attitude among students.
