Ludhiana: The annual founders day celebrations of Christian Medical College (CMC),Ludhiana,were held here on Friday. Nearly 50 alumni from the reunion batches visited their alma mater a. There was a Continuing Medical Education programme in which speakers from the reunion batches of 1961 and 1980 delivered scientific talks.

Book of plays released

Ludhiana: A book comprising plays written by Karamjit Grewal a Punjabi teacher of the Government High School at Kheri-Jhameri was released by theatre personality Nirmal Rishi. The event was organised by the Bahurang Sabhyacharak Club. The book mainly has plays related to the life of children and according to Karamjit,17 of his plays have been staged in various national and international festivals.

Five workshops at PAU next month

Ludhiana: The Punjab Agricultural University will hold five training sessions in April on agricultural aspects for the benefit of scientists and agriculture officers.

Director of Extension Education,Dr MS Gill said these sessions will cover topics such as ‘Seed production of vegetable crops (April 4-5)’,’Advances in drip and sprinkler irrigation and poly-houses (April 6-7)’,’Data analysis tools (April 18)’,’Nutrition and health care of mothers and children (April 25-27)’ and ‘Technological gaps in kharif crops (April 28-29)’.
