Book released

Based on his comprehensive studies of recent findings on different topics of genetics,Dr. BS Ghai,a retired professor and former head of the Department of Genetics,delivered a lecture on “Darwinism: an inconceivable hypothesis” at the Punjab Agricultural University here. The lecture was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor,Dr MS Kang,an eminent geneticist.

Dr Ghai revealed that most of the mutations occurring in nature are deleterious and reduced the fitness of the organisms. All living organisms from viruses to human beings are acquiring deleterious mutations at a very high rate. These are not being removed from the populations through natural selection.

On this occasion,Dr MS Kang released a book “Darwinism: an unconceivable hypothesis” written by Dr BS Ghai.
