486 girls given degrees

As many as 486 students of SDP College for Women were given degrees during the annual convocation and prize distribution function held here on Friday.

As many as 486 students of SDP College for Women were given degrees during the annual convocation and prize distribution function held here on Friday. Manish Tewari,MP,and national spokesman of the AICC,was the chief guest on the occasion.

Addressing the students,Tewari urged the young women graduates to bear the mantle of nation building as they constituted almost half of the total population of the country. He asked them to draw inspiration from the life of Sudha Murthy,wife of Narayan Murthy,who became a source of inspiration for her husband who built an iconic institution like Infosys.

Appreciating the efforts of the Managing Committee,Tewari said that educating young women,running academic institutions and ensuring job placements were the greatest service

On this occasion,Balraj Bhasin,President,SDP Sabha,and Principal Dr Meenu Sharma were also present. The function started with Saraswati Vandana . The toppers of April 2009 were also given prizes on the occasion.
