Woman arrested for posing as MLA

A woman was arrested while trying to enter the Vidhan Bhawan by posing as a Congress MLA from Kanpur on Tuesday.

A woman was arrested while trying to enter the Vidhan Bhawan by posing as a Congress MLA from Kanpur on Tuesday.

Later identified as Sarita Jaiswal,the woman told the police that Jaiswal said since there had been an attack on Parliament,she just wanted to check the security of the Vidhan Bhawan during the Assembly session.

Additional SP (East) Rajesh Kumar said the woman had not told much about herself and they were verfiying whatever information she has given. The police said the woman entered the Assembly complex from gate number 7 in a car. Since she said she was an MLA,the guards allowed her to enter the building,said Additional SP (Vidhan Sabha security) Udai Shankar.

Party spokesman Virendra Madan said the woman was mentally disturbed and was sometimes seen in Congress office.
