Vinay Katiyar gets Threat call

BJP national vice-president and Rajya Sabha member Vinay Katiyar allegedly received a threat call on his mobile phone late on Monday night,when he was at his residence in Faizabad district.

BJP national vice-president and Rajya Sabha member Vinay Katiyar allegedly received a threat call on his mobile phone late on Monday night,when he was at his residence in Faizabad district. On his complaint,the police registered a case under section 506 of IPC (Punishment for criminal intimidation). Faizabad SSP RK Chaturvedi said that a person recognising himself as Ahmad called on Katiyars mobile phone and threatened him. The caller claimed to be calling from Dubai. An FIR has been lodged in this connection and the accused will be traced soon, the SSP said.

Katiyar was not available for comment. BJP leaders said that the caller had threatened to kill Katiyar in one week. State party president Surya Pratap Shahi has demanded to enhance the security for Katiyar.
