Chief Secretary Jawed Usmani has asked officials of the mid-day meal scheme to complete the formalities of laying down the foundation of a centralised kitchen in Lucknow by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in June.

The centralised kitchen will be run by Akshay Patra foundation and will serve cooked meals to students under the scheme.

As per a press release issued by the Department of Information and Public Relation,Usmani took a review meeting of the mid-day meal scheme and gave instructions to the officials to survey the land for establishing these centralised kitchens in Lucknow,Kanpur,Kannauj and Agra. Usmani said that through the scheme,around 1.25 lakh students will get cooked meals.
