When inquired about the persons involved in the matter, the CO said,“We cannot disclose the names,as it could hamper the investigation.” The Faizabad Range DIG,Rajesh Kumar Rai,also said the police have details about the persons involved in sticking the posters, but action would be initiated after evidences are collected following the investigation.

However, the police picked up some locals for interrogation from Rampur Katra village in Safdurganj area and quizzed them about the background and the activities of the persons identified for sticking the posters. The police picked up seven persons for having links with the key suspects. They were later released.

The ATS probe also revealed that the group had held a meeting at Rampur Katra village on August 9 and the group members were wearing the PFI uniform — White shirt, pair of green trousers and tie of the same colour — during the meeting. The pamphlets containing a message with a headline — Bharat Bachao,Aatankwad Ke Khatme Ke Liye Phasiwad Se Lado — were distributed among people at the meeting.
