With the launch of telemedicine network between Patan Hospital,Kathmandu and the SGPGI,Lucknow,on Friday,now the patients from Nepal,from their own country,will be able to consult the doctors from the SGPGI.
The facility was inaugurated at the SGPGI by Dr RK Sharma,the director of the institute. In Kathmandu,the connectivity was inaugurated by Nepal Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal. The project,started by the Ministry of External Affairs,the Government of India,will also help the two countries in sharing medicine and treatment knowledge.
As part of an initiative to connect healthcare facilities among SAARC countries,the SGPGI department is already connected to various health centers in Bhutan and Afghanistan.
