Soccer: Impressive wins for APS,CMS

Army Public School,Nehru Road defeated Dabble College,Indira Nagar by 6-0 and CMS Gomti Nagar outclassed LPC team also by 6-0 to collect full points in their day’s matches of he 9th Avinash Chandra Chaturvedi Memorial Inter College Football Tournament in progress at Chowk Stadium,Lucknow. St. Fidelis College,Vikas Nagar beat Lucknow Public School,Jankipuram by 4-0 in yet another one-sided match. Army Public School (APS) exercised an upper hand over Dabble College from the word go. Rajesh Singh broke the ice in the 9th minute of the play. Pawan Singh consolidated the lead just four minutes later. Making full use of a pass from the left,Sanjay Chand sent the ball towards the target to make the half-time score 3-0 in favour of APS. The second-half was also dominated by the Army Public School. Its players Ashok Thapa (36th minute),Rajesh Singh (37th minute) and Somesh Chand (58th minute) scored a goal each to ensure a convincing win for the team.

City Montessori School,Gomti Nagar defeated LPC also by 6-0. CMS dominated the proceedings in the first-half. Forward Sumit found the target twice— in the 4th minute and 20th minute while Prateek (10th minute),Chitransh (15th minute),Harshit (28th minute) scored apiece each. In the second-half,the LPC defence became more alert. However,Harshit succeeded in scoring another goal in the 32nd minute to pave the way for a 6-0 win for his team. St. Fidelis College,Vikas Nagar defeated Lucknow Public School,Jankipuram by 4-0 in the third match. Salik (12th minute),Ali-ur-Rehman (28th minute),Vishal (50th minute) and Sandeep (56th minute) were the goal-getters on behalf of the victors.
