Second-year student found dead on rail tracks

A second-year BTech student was found dead with multiple injuries on a railway track near Mallhor railway station.

A second-year BTech student was found dead with multiple injuries on a railway track near Mallhor railway station in Lucknow’s Chinhat locality on Wednesday morning.

The police suspect Anuradha Singh (18) committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train. No suicide note has been found. The police said the motive was not clear,though they had heard that the girl was having problems with studies. The post-mortem report is awaited.

A native of Azamgarh,Anuradha was staying in a girls’ hostel in Gomti Nagar’s Vinay Khand. She was a student of Amity College in Lucknow. The police said Anuradha left the hostel on Tuesday morning to purchase a book. She did not return after that.
