RLD to release first list of candidates in two weeks

Rashtriya Lok Dal will release its first list of candidates for the forthcoming UP Assembly elections in next two weeks,as the pre-poll pact with the Congress remains just a formal announcement.

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) will release its first list of candidates for the forthcoming UP Assembly elections in next two weeks,as the pre-poll pact with the Congress remains just a formal announcement.

RLD General Secretary Jayant Chaudhary, who was in Lucknow on Saturday, said the RLD will announce its first list in November last week or December first week. Although Chaudhary did not divulge the issues which were delaying the pact with the Congress, party sources said the alliance had taken final shape and is likely to be announced in the next week.

Treading consciously for not creating any rift with its future ally the Congress,RLD has not yet clearly stated its stand on 51 per cent FDI in multi-brand retail, and the procedure for division of UP. Chaudhary said the RLD has always demanded the division of UP but did not clarify the party’s stand on the way it should be done.

On the Union Cabinet decision for 51 per cent FDI in multi-brand retail,Chaudhry said the party will express its views on the decision when it is placed in the Parliament for discussion.

Chaudhary said the misgovernance of the BSP government would be the biggest rallying point for the coming Assembly elections.
