A BSP MP and her MLA husband have been asked to appear before a court here on November 28 over allegations of having ransacked the office of a private university.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Sanjeev Kumar had Friday ordered BSP MP Seema Upadhyay and her husband Ramveer Upadhyay,a former UP minister,to appear in court in connection with the case pending against them.
The court had in June this year ordered police to file a case against the BSP duo on a complaint filed by security officer of Vivekananda Subharti University,Naresh Kumar.
According to the complaint, the duo had on April 3 gone to the university to get their daughter admitted into the PG medical programme and sought a meeting with the director of the institution who was, however, not present. That allegedly triggered an outburst from the former minister who, along with his security guards, ransacked the university office and also threatened its staff.
