Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs R P N Singh Monday said there was no question of a rethink on the part of the government on creating a separate state for Telangana in Andhra Pradesh.
The union cabinet had cleared the proposal for bifurcating Andhra Pradesh and create a separate state for Telangana on October 3.
Talking to mediapersons after participating in the 21st Raising Day Parade of the Rapid Action Force, held at its Phaphamau camp here,Singh said the government was determined to complete formalities regarding creation of a separate state.
When asked about the violence that has begun after the Cabinet cleared the proposal,Singh said there was no question of rethink on the part of the Centre. Ever since the cabinet cleared the proposal, the state has witnessed political turmoil and violence, besides resignations of ministers at the Centre.
Singh also blamed some of political parties for taking a contrarian stand after the proposal was cleared, even though they had agreed to the creation in the meetings held by the government.
