The cliched Indian man on Indian TV soaps, with few words in his mouth and eyes brimming with unshed tears, now has a reason to be insecure. With the small screen primarily catering to a female viewership in the country, the helpless husbands and silent fathers have had a rather longer shelf life. But finally, they have some brawny competition with the TV stud,a new entrant to the entertainment game on the small screen. But first,go back to the mid-Nineties,when Ajay, the hero-villain of the film Baazigar, played to the hilt by Shah Rukh Khan, caught everyones attention. The audience hated him for being so dark, but fell in love with his mop hairdo, geeky glasses and loose white shirts with droopy shoulders. He was a true stud neither the good boy with chocolate looks and a rose in his hand, nor the bad boy with a stubble and leather jacket. From Sanjay Dutt to Hrithik Roshan,Ajay Devgn to John Abraham,Bollywoods stud farm only grew in power and pelf. Now,officially presided over by Salman Khan, the good-bad combo of the Indian male in the entertainment industry is an irresistible one. No wonder it has found its way to the small screen.
Talk zeroes down on four studs from Indian reality TV shows. They wear confidence on the sleeve, strut with a swagger and are willing to dare and bare more than just their muscles. With glorious and inglorious debuts,a fair share of controversies, fan pages on social networking sites and love notes from a cross section of audiences, these are four dashing devils tattoos and accents all thrown in.
