A 47-year-old man,who was allegedly murdered nearly 15 months ago,has been detained by the Azamgarh police. The incident was reported under Atraulia police station area of Azamgarh district on Friday.
The police are now planning legal action against the complainant,who had got a murder case lodged by approaching the court. The complainant had allegedly named one of his uncles and his wife as the accused as they had some dispute with him.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural),Azamgarh,K K Chaudhary,said: The man has been detained. We will first proceed to get the case expunged registered in this connection and then lodge a formal case against the complainant for giving false information to the court and the police.
Police said one Uday Raj,son of Kamta Prasad,a resident of Devdih village,had claimed on February 22,2012 that his uncle Ramanand had been murdered. Uday blamed his second uncle,Bharat,and his wife,Sika Devi,for the murder.
The police,however,did not register a case on his complaint,following which he approached the court.
On August 26,2012,on the orders of the court,an FIR of murder was registered at Atraulia police station. Bharat and Sika Devi,who were named as accused,escaped from the village.
Recently,the police came to know that Ramanand was alive. We got information that he had returned to the village. On Friday,we detained him from a bus stand, said Singh.
Meanwhile,the accused couple,who got the news about Ramanand being alive,has also returned to the village. They had gone to Panipat in Haryana where they worked as labourers, said Singh.
On February 22,2012,Ramanand had returned home from Kolkata,where he worked in a bakery. Uday met him at the bus stand,took his bag and came home,where he raised the alarm about the alleged murder. Ramanand,meanwhile,returned and reached Delhi.
