Maya rejigs portfolios

A day after two ministers Family Welfare Minister Babu Singh Kushwaha and Health Minister Anant Kumar Mishra resigned

A day after two ministers Family Welfare Minister Babu Singh Kushwaha and Health Minister Anant Kumar Mishra resigned,Chief Minister Mayawati on Friday carried minor reshuffle of the portfolios of her ministers.

PWD Minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui was given additional charge of medical and health,family welfare and cooperatives,making him the most powerful minister.

Siddiqui already holds the portfolios of sugar,excise,PWD and housing departments. He was,however,divested of agriculture,land development and water resources departments.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Lalji Verma was given additional charge of institutional finance,stamps and registration. Social Welfare Minister Indrajit Saroj was given additional charge of geology and mining,while Lakshmi Naryan was divested of vocational education and allocated agriculture.

Jagdish Naryan Rai,Silk Minister,was given additional charge of vocational education. Swami Prasad Maurya,Minister for Panchyat Raj,was given additional charge of land development and water resources.
