Man shot after scuffle in city

A man Friday was murdered in Sarojini Nagar following a verbal duel,police said.

A man Friday was murdered in Sarojini Nagar following a verbal duel,police said.

The victim Subhash Rawat (30) of Natkor village had a confrontation with one Ankit at the former’s orchard over plucking mangoes without his permission.

When the confrontation turned to a scuffle,Ankit,a servant at one Sonu Singh’s residence in Badalikheda,went to complain to Sonu. However,Sonu’s brother-in-law,in a fit of anger,reached at Rawat’s orchard and shot at him with his licensed revolver,the police said.

Rawat suffered injuries on his chest and later died at the hospital. Circle Officer (Sarojini Nagar),Harendra Kumar said an FIR has been lodged and both Manoj and Ankit have been arrested and booked for murder.

Following the incident,the residents of Natkor village went to Sonu’s house and damaged his house and the car,which was parked outside. The villagers also attacked Manoj’s shop. Police force has been deployed in the village after the incident.
