The executive council of the Lucknow University decided to remove Ramesh Chand Tripathi,Head of the Department of Mass Communication, from the post on Friday following an inquiry committees findings that the documents submitted by him at the time of appointment were fake.
He has, however, been allowed to retain his original post of Reader in the Department of Hindi. Tripathi was initially made the coordinator of Department of Journalism from 1998 and 2005,while serving in the Department of Hindi.
In 2005,after allegedly producing fake certificate of Masters in Mass Communication from Guru Jambeshwar University,Hisar,Haryana,he joined as the Reader and Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
The issue of fake marksheet came to light following a complaint lodged by Dr Vinod Singh of Department of Economics. Thereafter,an inquiry committee was instituted by the university to look into the matter.
Tripathi, meanwhile, lodged an FIR against Guru Jambeshwar University stating that the university provided him with a fake marksheet.
In another decision taken by the council,18 non-teaching employees who were appointed for the evening classes and whose services had been terminated after the evening classes were closed, will now be absorbed in the self-finance courses run by the university.
