LDA lines up three housing schemes

LDA vice-chairman Mukesh Kumar Meshram said,“Cost of these flats is comparatively high because land is costly in that locality.”

A week after,the LDA will begin the demand survey for Green View Heights,the multi-storey apartments to be developed in Sector 1 and 4 in Gomti Nagar Extension.

Bookings for 8350 EWS flats and over 1650 LIG category flats of Apna Ghar scheme will begin from Monday. The booking was to be opened on August 15 but it was deferred citing Model Code of Conduct that was enforced due to Assembly by-elections. In this scheme,3152 EWS houses will be built at Para,3312 at Basant Kinj,688 at Jankipuram and 848 at Mansarover areas. Nearly 800 LIG houses will be constructed at Basant Kunj,480 at Mansarover and 366 at Gomti Nagar Extension. Parks,markets and nursery schools will also be developed in these schemes.

According to LDA authorities,one EWS flat will cover 320 sq feet area and cost over Rs 2.90 lakh. An LIG flat will cover 500 sq feet area and cost Rs 5.90 lakh. Officials said Loan Mela will be organised at LDA office on first and third Saturday every month in which nationalised banks like Union Bank of India,Allahabad Bank,Central Bank of India and Punjab National Bank will provide loans for these flats.

“These banks will provide subsidy up to Rs 30,000 for the flats,” Meshram said.

The cost of flats could reduce further if the Centre agreed to provide subsidy of up to Rs 50,000 for LIG and EWS category houses. “I have made a presentation of Apna Ghar scheme before the Central government officials who were in Lucknow today,” Meshram said.
