Land grab case registered against BSP MP

The Sultanpur police have registered a case against local Bahujan Samaj Party MP Mohammad Tahir Khan for allegedly encroaching upon the land of a villager in Bencu Gaav ka Purva.

The Sultanpur police have registered a case against local Bahujan Samaj Party MP Mohammad Tahir Khan for allegedly encroaching upon the land of a villager in Bencu Gaav ka Purva.

Villager Ibraar Ahmed had filed an application in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Umesh Kumar, accusing Khan of illegally occupying his land on basis of a counterfeit agreement. Following this, the court has asked the police to register a case against Khan on December 24.

Talking to The Indian Express,Abdul Rahman,Ahmed’s advocate, said: “In November last year, the MP illegally encroached upon the land, which is more than an acre. The fake agreement was signed by one Mahtaab who has no link with the land.”

He added that though Ahmed approached the police for help,it did not take any action as Khan was a ruling party MP.

“Therefore,he moved court,” Rahman said.

Sultanpur Additional Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar said: “We have lodged an FIR but our investigation shows the complaint is fake. The MP has not encroached upon any land belonging to Ibraar.”

He added that the land in question belongs to Mahtaab and the MP has legally purchased it. “Ibraar has also made Mahtaab a co-accused in the FIR,” Kumar said.
