Just Wanted

Crime-based show anchor shrugs off similarity with Iliyasi’s Most Wanted

The format smacks heavily of Suhaib Iliyasi’s immensely popular India’s Most Wanted which did wonders for Zee TV,but representatives of Colors claim to be pioneering a concept with Wanted-High Alert, the crime patrol show that goes on air from Saturday night. “Our show is different in that we are interacting with the audience and seeking their help to nab crime accused,in case the viewers know of their whereabouts,” said actor Sushant Singh,in Lucknow and Kanpur on Friday to promote the show on the eve of its broadcast. Agreeing that TV channels tend to sell crime by dramatising and sensationalising it in the name of reconstructing the events,Singh said he would try his best to uphold the cause of helping victims get justice and bringing culprits to books.

“The day I and the team sense that the show is being manipulated for increased TRPs,we will back out,” averred the film actor last seen in Yeh Saali Zindagi and remembered best for his portrayal of Sukhdev in The Legend of Bhagat Singh.

“I cannot match the patriotic passion of the 23-year-old martyr but the least I can do is make a difference through a well-meaning show like this,” says the actor about his small-screen debut, with a vehement no to doing anything like Bigg Boss.
