Judge suspended for using ‘murder case’ car

An additional district judge has been suspended by the Allahabad High Court for using a vehicle confiscated by the local police in connection with a murder.

An additional district judge has been suspended by the Allahabad High Court for using a vehicle confiscated by the local police in connection with a murder. According to sources, the Judge,Ramchandra, had been transferred to Agra from Mirzapur on June 12 this year. On July 22,the judge went to Vrindavan on a personal visit and on the same date,a complaint was filed against him that he was using a vehicle used in a murder. When the Vrindavan police caught up with the vehicle, the complaint was found to be correct. Subsequently, the matter was placed before the Allahabad High Court, which then suspended the judge. The judge claimed he had demanded a vehicle for his use from the Shahganj Police Station, which instead of providing an official vehicle, gave him a car used in a murder. He claimed he was not guilty as he was not aware of the status of the vehicle.
