Three dead in car-truck collision
Three persons died and two other were injured when a truck rammed the car in Lucknow ‘s Mohanlalganj area on early Monday morning. The police have seized the truck but its driver managed to escape. The deceased are Pintoo,Sandeep and Rinku. Pintoo,the owner,was driving the car. The injured are Gyanendar Singh and Avadesh. The police said they were informed at 3.30 am ,that an accident had taken place on the Lucknow-Rai Bareilly Highway . The five were taken to the hospital where doctors declared three of them dead on arrival.

STF guns down gangster
The state STF evening gunned down a gangster in Meerut on Monday evening. According to police,Manoj Fauzi (30) was a member of Vinod Bawla gang and had six criminal cases against him. A pistol and motorcycle was recovered from his possession.

Waqf chairman elected
The elections of the chairman of the UP Shia Waqf Board and the UP State Sunni Waqf Board were held on Monday. While Zufar Ahmed Farooqui was elected as the chairman of the Sunni Waqf Board,Kamaaluddin Ahmed was chosen as the chairman for the UP Shia Waqf Board. Eight elected members and five nominated members of the Sunni Waqf Board participated in the polls.
