State releases Rs 4.8 crore for Bundelkhand projects
The state government has released Rs 4.83 crore for completion of seven projects in Bundelkhand region. The money has been released as part of the state’s share for the Bundelkhand Development Package and will be utilised for projects approved in Mahoba and Banda districts.

According to an official release of the state government,the money will primarily be used for construction of the connecting roads. The public works department (PWD) will be the nodal agency for the projects which include Duredi to Pehrawan road in Mahoba district (Rs 79.12 lakh),four-lane road between Banda and Behraich district on Nepal border (Rs 118.98 lakh),Banda to Hamirpur road (Rs 20.92 lakh) and road from Bada Gaon to Yamuna Ghat in Mahoba district (Rs 142.03 lakh).

BJP leader joins Kalyan’s JKP
Former general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and legislator Virsen Saroha resigned from the party’s primary membership. A close acquaintance of former UP Chief Minister Kalyan Singh,Saroha joined Kalyan’s newly formed outfit — Jan Kranti Party. Kalyan Singh,the national patron of the JKP,has nominated Saroha as the second national patron of the party. He will be introduced to the workers at the party’s first national convention to be held at Ravindralaya in the city on Tuesday,said sources.

Girl poisons sisters,self,three die
A teenage girl,upset over her mother’s illicit relationship with her uncle,gave poison to her three younger sisters before consuming it herself. All the four girls were rushed to a hospital where she and two of her sisters died.

The incident happened in Kokhraj area of Kaushambi district on Sunday evening. A suicide note left by the girl,Sonam (16) held her mother Suman and uncle Raghunath responsible for the incident. Suman has been arrested while Raghunath is absconding,said police.

The Kaushambi Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP),Madho Prasad Verma,said Om Prakash Yadav’s daughters Sonam,Anjana (12),Badki (6) and Chhotki (4) were found lying unconscious in their house around 8 pm yesterday. The girls were rushed to the Jeevan Jyoti Hospital in Bharwari area of the district where Sonam,Anjana and Chhotki died during the treatment. Badki was referred to the SRN Hospital,Allahabad late yesterday night where she is battling for life. The ASP said the primary investigation revealed that Yadav had caught his brother Raghunath and wife,Suman,in an objectionable state on July 16. Following which,Suman left the house.
