Woman dies in fire accident

A woman died of burn injuries after fire broke out at her Madioan area residence on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Bindu Nishad. Her husband,Lal Chand,also sustained burn injuries and has been admitted to a private hospital. According to the police,a gas leak caused the fire. Doctors have stated the condition of Lal Chand as stable, said P K Srivastava,Station Officer of Madioan police station.

Man robbed of Rs 2 lakh in UP

Two unidentified miscreants robbed a local businessman of Rs 2 lakh in Lucknows Aminabad area on Saturday morning. Giri Sahu,a resident of Maqboolganj locality,was on way to his shop in Aminabad crossing when the incident took place. A case against unidentified persons has been registered at the Aminabad police station. According to the police,when Giri reached the Kasaibara crossing,two motorcycle-borne persons robbed him on gunpoint and fled. Aminabad police station in-charge Kapil Deo said: When the public pelted stones at the miscreants,they opened fire.

Road rage: Shot 4 times,man critical

NEW DELHI: In an alleged incident of road rage,a 27-year-old man was shot at four times by a youth in Ranhaula,West Delhi,on Friday night. Police said Neelu Kumar,a scrap dealer,was travelling in a three-wheeler,when the vehicle brushed with a motorcycle. This led to an altercation,following which the motorcyclist called his friends and one of them fired at Neelu,the police said. The victim is in a critical condition in the ICU of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.
