Two held for carrying weapons
The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Monday arrested two persons for illegal possession of 11 factory-made .32 bore pistols and three magazines containing live cartridges in Chandauli district. The ATS team caught the accused ¿Shakir and Shahzad alias Kallu ¿both residents of Meerut district,at Mughalsarai railway station soon after they got down from the Vikramshila Express Train. According to ATS officials the accused had purchased the weapons from one Pappu in Munger district of Bihar,each costing Rs 10,000. The accused were planning to sell the weapons in various districts of the Western UP. They also confessed to have sold the weapons earlier also in the region at a cost of Rs 30,000 each.
Dixit inducted in BJP central team
Bharatiya Janata Party state spokesperson Hriday Narain Dixit has been inducted into the partys Central Training Team. In an official release issued by the party,it has been stated that Dixit is the only leader from Uttar Pradesh to be selected for the central team.
Three commit suicide
Three persons allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in the city on Sunday. Rameshwar alias Ramu (30) jumped before a speeding train after a spat with his wife in Hanuman Khera crossing,said a senior officer. Charan Lal (45) also jumped before a train in Rasoolpur crossing while Pramod Kumar Maurya (17),a rickshaw puller,hanged himself from the ceiling of his Gudamba area residence.
