In bid to rein in legislators,SP suspends three MLAs

Samajwadi Party suspended three MLAs — Mahendra Kumar Singh alias Jheen Babu,Ramlal Akela and Radhey Shyam Jaiswal — from the party’s membership Wednesday

Samajwadi Party suspended three MLAs — Mahendra Kumar Singh alias Jheen Babu,Ramlal Akela and Radhey Shyam Jaiswal — from the party’s membership Wednesday.

Among the suspended legislators,Jheen Babu was arrested along with Dharmendra Prasad,Ajay Prakash Singh and two others during a raid from a dance bar in Panaji on Tuesday. The Assembly Speaker has been informed about Jheen Babu’s arrest. A four-time MLA,he represents,Sevta Assembly seat in Sitapur district. Earlier,the party office had said a showcause notice had been issued to Jheen Babu. But later,order for Jheen Babu’s suspension was issued. “Our CM has issued instructions for suspending the legislators,” state spokesperson Rajendra Choudhary said.

legislator Ramlal Akela was suspended after an FIR was lodged against his sons — Ranjeet,Sonu and Vikrant — for demolishing an under-construction building on the land of Additional Chief Medical Officer Mohammad Nasir in Kotwali Saturday.

Rahdeyshyam Jaiswal,SP MLA from Sitapur,was suspended after his two sons were booked for firing at a 25-year-old.
