Lucknow University has decided to show corrected answer scripts to students who want to have a look at them within a month of declaration of results the first university in the state to take such step.

Students interested in looking at corrected answer scripts will have to deposit a fee of Rs 500 per paper. The decision was taken at an examination committee meeting held on Wednesday to discuss the issue. The university spokesperson said students interested in seeing the corrected scripts will first have to download a form from the university website.

The form,duly filled,and forwarded by the respective deans or principals or heads of department of colleges,will have to be submitted with the Deputy Registrar of the university.

The date and time allotted for showing the papers will be conveyed to the student. Over the past few weeks,several students from affiliated colleges of the university have been protesting against alleged anomalies in evaluation of answer scripts.

There has been a recent judgement of the Supreme Court,according to which answer scripts can be shown to students. Earlier,we had decided to show them to only unsuccessful students. But today,the examination committee decided to make the option available for all, said Prof AK Srivastava,spokesperson of the university.

Lucknow University is the first state university to take such a step,which is definitely commendable, said Dr Maulindu Mishra,former president of the Lucknow University Affiliated College Teachers Association.
