BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj on Wednesday put the party leadership in an awkward situation when in a public event where UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state unit chief Bhupendra Chaudhary were present, he said that as per his understanding “there is no respectful partnership between the government and the party organisation”.

Speaking at an event to mark the death anniversary of former BJP chief minster Kalyan Singh, the MP from Unnao said: “Mujhe lagta hai… satta mein aur sangathan mein sammanjanak sajhedari nahi hai… Dono mukhuiya aage baithe hain, aagey ishka dhyan rakhenge to badi kripa hogi” (I feel and as far as I understand.. there is no respectful partnership between the Government and the organisation.. Both the leaders are sitting in the front row and it would be a big help if they would keep this in mind in the future).”

Sakshi Maharaj’s remarks come amid the churn in the BJP’s UP unit after the party’s sub-par performance in the state during the Lok Sabha elections in June this year as voices have emerged questioning the state leadership and alleging lack of coordination between the government, headed by Adityanath, and the state unit, led by Chaudhary.

I want to give the credit for it to Kalyan Singh),” the BJP MP said, adding the soul of father lies in son, and therefore, he respects both of them and expects others to respect them as well.

The Unnao MP also thanked CM Adityanath for “fulfilling” the dream of Kalyan Singh — “be it about finishing the mafia to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya with the help of central government.
