General candidates for reserved scout master posts

Failing to find suitable candidates for the vacant posts of scout masters across the state from the SC/ST category,the state government directed that the posts be filled with candidates from general category.

“No suitable candidate was coming forward and many posts were lying vacant for the past two years,” said IP Sharma,Secretary,Primary Education Board,Uttar Pradesh. Finally,the government took the decision at a recent meeting.

In Lucknow alone,posts of scout master are lying vacant in all the nine blocks. Each block has around 12 schools and the scout master is responsible for them.

“Due to a dearth of teachers,studies are being hampered,hence the decision,” Sharma said. “We have directed officials in each district to give us the exact number of vacancies by June,so that immediate action could be taken.”
