Four persons were arrested by the Lucknow police for trying to rob a contractor and his friends in Alambagh late at Friday night.

Abhishek Srivastava,35,and his two friends were returning home from Gomti Nagar when they found the road blocked by wooden logs. As soon as Srivastava stopped the car,four miscreants – who were hiding behind the logs – came out and started beating the occupants of the car.

“When the victims objected and started shouting for help,a police team patrolling the area rushed to the spot and arrested the miscreants,” said In-Charge of the Alambagh police station KP Singh.

The accused have been identified as Tushar Singh,Sagar Sharma,Rana and Alam Hussain.
