Releasing a performance report of the first six months of Samajwadi Party regime, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today called it a government with multiple-power centres, which has failed to live up the expectations of masses. At a press conference today, state party president Laxmikant Bajpai said that there are five power centres other than Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, including SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav,Shivpal Singh Yadav,Azam Khan,Ram Gopal Yadav and Syed Ahmed Bukhari,Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid,Delhi.

Bajpai said that just as UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are more powerful than Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the Centre; in Uttar Pradesh these ‘power centres’ are more powerful than the chief minister.

Bajpai said that SP government could be “better defined” on five points — corruption, confusion, crime, communal and compartment. Elaborating,he said the government was inactive on corruption of previous BSP regime, crime cases were on the rise, communal tensions were happening every month and the focus of the government was limited to six districts.

The BJP said that the SP government has passed in only one section — Muslim appeasement.

He said that due to multiple power centres, the state government had to roll back various decisions.
