FIR against another RNN contractor

The police on Sunday lodged an FIR against a Rajkiya Nirman Nigam contractor at Gomti Nagar police station for not making the complete payment of two of his sub-contractors who did the work of shaping two elephant statues erected in Ambedkar Memorial.

The police on Sunday lodged an FIR against a Rajkiya Nirman Nigam (RNN) contractor at Gomti Nagar police station for not making the complete payment of two of his sub-contractors who did the work of shaping two elephant statues erected in Ambedkar Memorial.

According to the complaint submitted by two Agra-based stonework contractors – Mata Prakash and Lakshmi Narayan – they were asked to prepare two elephants of about 20 feet for Ambedkar Memorial by RNN contractor Devendra Singh who runs his firm Gaytri Traders from Rajajipuram area of Lucknow.

Prakash and Narayan alleged that they had been asked to prepare two elephant statues at the cost of Rs 14.62 lakh each. But they were paid only Rs 12.62 lakh for each elephant by Singh and later,Singh declined to pay their dues of Rs 4 lakh. When they kept asking for their dues,Singh threatened to get them killed,they alleged.

Gomti Nagar Station Officer Manoj Kumar Mishra said the police has lodged the FIR on the basis of the complaint and the case will be transferred to Para police station as the incident took place there.
