Factory workers to get Rs 10,000 for daughters’ marriage

State labour department will provide a one-time financial aid of Rs 10,000 to workers employed in the state’s industrial units for the marriage of their daughters. Labour Commissioner Harsharan Das said the aid will be provided only to those workers whose monthly income is less than Rs 10.000. If both parents are working in industrial units,the total monthly income should not exceed Rs 10,000. The financial help will be extended for the marriage of two daughters only. Workers should apply on the prescribed format before one month of marriage.

Abused girl delivers stillborn

Bulandshahr: An orphan minor girl who was allegedly sexually abused by her brother-in-law delivered a stillborn child on the first night of her marriage after which a panchayat ordered separation of the couple. The 15-year-old delivered the baby on May 5 on the night of her marriage.
