Engineer kills self in Lucknow

An engineer posted at the Research Design and Standards Organisation in Lucknow,allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Lucknows Ashiana area on Tuesday.

An engineer posted at the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) in Lucknow,allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Lucknows Ashiana area on Tuesday. The incident was reported to the police on Wednesday.

Avadesh Kumar Gupta (49) was posted as assistant engineer in RDSO. No suicide note was found. According to the police,Avadeshs wife Kiran told them that she came to know about suicide on Tuesday afternoon when she returned home from her parents house in Jalaun. She had gone there four days ago to attend a wedding.

She found the house locked from inside. Despite several knocks on the door,when Kiran did not get a reply,she called her neighbours. The door was broken and the body found hanging from a hook in the bedroom, said Kalyan Singh,in-charge of Ashiana police station.

Neighbours rushed Avadesh to the nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Sarojini Nagar Circle Officer D P Shukla said: The entire house has been searched but no suicide note was found. On Tuesday morning,Avadesh had sent back the domestic help and told her not to come the next day,he added.

Avadesh was a resident of Rashmi Khand of Ashiana Colony. His son is studying at the BHU.
