Dhyan Chand hockey begins

In the second match,KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium ‘Red’ defeated Rajkiye Inter College,Lucknow 7-0. For the ‘Babu’ Stadium team,N Kishore netted three goals while Ankit Kumar and Saurabh Chandra scored two goals each. M Samayal Ali blasted three goals while M Shabbir and Anand netted apiece each as National Inter College defeated KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium ‘Blue’ by 5-1. The consolation goal for ‘Babu’ Stadium ‘Blue’ was struck by Faraz.

The match between National Inter College and Islamia Inter College ended in a 1-1 draw. The fifth match of the day played between National Inter College and LDA Coaching Centre ended in a goaless draw.

In the last match of the day,KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium ‘Red’ beat Islamia Inter College by 8-0. Rohit Pandey found the target thrice while M Idris netted two goals. Ritesh Kumar,Zeeshan and Abhijeet Sonkar scored one goal each.

VANDANA Kataria of Sports Hostel,Lucknow has been selected for the senior India women’s special hockey camp to be held from September 7 to October 4 at SAI Sub-Centre,Bhopal for the 7th Asia Cup Hockey Tournament. The tournament will be organised at Thailand from October 30 to November 8.

State bridge

THE 39th UP state Bridge Championship commenced at VKS Varadan auditorium,Geological Survey of India,Aliganj,Lucknow on Friday. The event was inaugurated by RK Singh,Sr Dy Director General,NR,GSI. The tournament started with Team of four duplicate event.
