Dalit sisters raped in Sitapur

Two teenage Dalit sisters were allegedly raped by three youths when they were returning home from college in Imliya Sultanpur area of Sitapur district on Tuesday evening

Two teenage Dalit sisters were allegedly raped by three youths when they were returning home from college in Imliya Sultanpur area of Sitapur district on Tuesday evening.

Locals caught hold of an accused and thrashed him till the police took him in custody. The others are yet to be traced. The victims have been sent for the medical examination.

Sitapur SP Ram Kumar said the girls are students of Class XI and X in an intermediate college. When they were returning home after the classes,three youths Adeeb Khan,Kaleem Khan and Mukhtar Khan of nearby Baseti village stopped them at a secluded place.

Ram Kumar said the youths allegedly held the girls at knife-point and took them to a cane field and raped them. Hearing their screams,villagers gathered at the spot. They caught Mukhtar and thrashed him,while the others managed to escape.
