Seems like Anandi’s father has another side to him. Chetanya Adib,who plays Khajan Singh on the popular Balika Vadhu,has been lending his voice to various Hollywood films and to television channels like Discovery,Pogo,Disney and Zoom. Chetanya claims to have started by doing voice-overs only as an alternative to acting,but the latter remains his first love. With Balika Vadhu steadily giving in to soap opera tropes,we wouldn’t be surprised if it wraps up soon. In which case,Chetanya thankfully has other options open.

The long goodbye
Soap actors have no shortage of drama even in their real lives. The latest news from the sets of Bidaai has it that Sara Khan,who plays Sadhna,is getting set to walk out of the show that made her famous. Some say it is because she’s getting married,some say it’s because she had a tiff with the producer. Our guess? Just another tired old publicity stunt. Don’t be surprised if she comes back from the dead with amnesia.

Age no bar
We recently heard someone on Zara Nachke Dikha say that his childhood dream was to dance with Rakhi Sawant. Turns out Sushant Singh,one of the contestants on ZND,who performed with Rakhi for the ‘Khallas’ round,confessed that now that his dream had been achieved,he didn’t expect anything more. Which leads us to questions: how old is the lissom Ms Sawant? Or conversely,how young is the strapping Mr Singh?

Big screen calling
Another television actress moves to the silver screen. Chitrapamaa Bannerjee,who’s currently working on Sahara One’s Kesariya Balam and Imagine’s Devi,is set to make her Bollywood debut in Agni. She reveals that she’ll be playing the lead’s mother. The movie also marks Raveena Tandon’s comeback and is supposedly based on true events and is a completely women-oriented film. Let’s hope this is not an excuse to simply ply us with gratuitous sexual violence and pointless polemics.
