CBI men catch station master taking bribes

The state Anti-Corruption wing of CBI caught a railway station master red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from one Kulwant Singh.

The state Anti-Corruption wing of CBI caught a railway station master red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from one Kulwant Singh.

According to Deputy Inspector General of CBI,Pankaj Srivastava,station master of Manjhra Purab railway station AS Siddiqui of Northern Eastern Railways was caught taking the bribe from Singh,who is a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri.

For the last several years,Singh was carrying out with his farming on a land which also encompasses a small area of the railways’ land.

Siddiqui threatened the farmer to either cough up Rs 20,000 for continuing the farming or the land would be forcibly taken away. Singh then contacted the CBI office and was asked to offer Rs 10,000 to the station master. While accepting the amount Siddiqui was caught by the CBI team.
