BSP leader gets bail in murder case

A local court on Tuesday granted bail to Bahujan Samaj Party leader Intezar Ahmed Abidi alias Bobby,who was arrested for the charges of murder of Social Welfare department employee Saif Haider Naqvi alias Saifi. Saifi was shot dead in Wazirganj area of the city on March 2.

Additional District Judge Shashank Shekhar directed Bobby to file two surety bonds of Rs 1 lakh each. Bobby was arrested by the Lucknow police from near his house on June 18.

Two shooters Salim and Rustam,both residents of Sadar area of Lucknow,arrested by the Delhi Police for the murder of a jeweller in Delhi,had confessed to killing Saifi at the behest of the BSP leader. During interrogation,Salim told police that Bobby had wanted to eliminate Saifi as the government employee disapproved of an alleged illicit relationship Bobby had with one of his relatives.
