The Uttar Pradesh Haj Committee has formed committees in 40 districts across the state to prepare for this year’s Haj pilgrimage.

According to Special Officer (Haj) M A Khan, these committees have been set up so that the pilgrims can have an easy access to information and if needed, lodge complaints in their own districts.

In the remaining 31 districts of the state, such committees — to be headed by the district magistrates — will be constituted within next one week,he added. Apart from the district committees, the state Haj committee will begin a telephone helpline service for the pilgrims. A register will be maintained, where the details of the complaint and the action taken will be mentioned.
