One killed,another injured in celebratory firing
An eight-year-old boy was killed and a teenager injured when some persons fired celebratory gunshots at a wedding function on the outskirts of Lucknow,the police said on Thursday.

Rajnish died after he sustained bullet injuries in the head when a person opened fire in Lokharia village on Tuesday night. A sixteen-year-old boy,Naushilal,also sustained pellet injuries and was admitted to a hospital. A case had been registered,and efforts were being made to arrest the accused,said a police officer.

Kanpur boy found dead in ditch
KANPUR: A nine-year-old boy was found dead in a ditch on Thursday — two days after he went missing,said the police.

“Saurabh Valmiki’s body was recovered from a five-feet deep ditch in Barra,” said Circle Officer Govind Nagar Prashant Kumar. The boy had gone missing on March 22 while he was playing with his friends outside his house.

According to Saurabh’s parents,he was a patient of epilepsy,said Kumar. He could have fell into the ditch after an epileptic seizure,he added.
