Lucknow:A US national,allegedly staying in India illegally for one year,was arrested after a routine check at Sonauli check post while he was trying to cross to Nepal,in Maharajganj on Thursday evening. He was produced in court and sent to jail Friday evening,said Maharajganj SP Laxmi Narain. Carlos Oscar Pastrana Fuentes was caught at the immigration checkpost when the officials suspected the authenticity of his visa. The entries on his passport were not verified on checking with Delhi and Mumbai,the SP said.

Honour killing claims youth

Lucknow:In a suspected case of honour killing,a youth was allegedly beaten to death by three persons,including a police constable,in Bareilly district,police said on Friday. The incident took place on Thursday in Izatnagar area of the district.
