A bomb was hurled by unidentified persons on Sub-Divisional Magistrate V K Singh, who along with other administration officials and police, was trying to remove an encroachment in Akrela village under Colonelganj police station in Gonda on Saturday evening.
No one was reported to be injured in the attack.
An FIR has been registered at Colonelganj police station in this connection. Later in the evening, the police arrested two persons, identified as Iqbal and Naseeb, in this connection and recovered two country-made bombs from their possession.

Station House Officer, Colonelganj police station, Brij Kishor Yadav said the arrested persons are relatives of the person who had encroached the road and constructed a wall. He added that the illegal construction has been demolished.
The SDM had gone to the village on receiving a complaint of the encroachment.
Singh said when the administration and police team tried to remove the construction, several villagers arrived at the spot and entered into an argument with the officials.
In the midst of the commotion, one of the villagers hurled a bomb which fell close to the SDM. After the attack, the police had to use force to disperse the mob.
