Two days after the visit of its national president Nitin Gadkari, the state unit of BJP has begun an exercise to strengthen the organisation. The party has decided to hold separate organisational meetings in six regions in the state — Awadh,Kashi,Brij,Kanpur,Western and Gorakhpur.

These meetings, which will take place by mid-December,will be attended by functionaries, members of state and national working committee, former and present members of legislative assembly and parliamentarians of the concerned districts.

The chief motive of these meetings will be to discuss and prepare programmes for the year ahead — protests against the “corruption at the Central level” and “law and order problem at the state level”.

Party leaders say while the meetings will be chaired by the state president Surya Pratap Shahi, the its national leaders are also expected to participate in each meeting to give final shape to the programmes.

“We have been holding such meetings in the past, but this time there are some large issues to be discussed, like “Gaon Chalo Abhiyan”,“Corruption of Congress” and “inability of the state government to ensure law and order,” said party spokesperson Dileep Srivastava.

He said: “The first meeting — Awadh region — will take place at on December 5. The second will take place on December 6 for Kashi,December 9 for Brij,December 11 for Western Region,December 12 for Kanpur and the meeting for Gorakhpur will take place on December 14.”
