A case on the charges of sedition was registered against Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan at the City Kotwali police station of Budaun,following a court order on Tuesday,allegedly for his remarks on Kashmir. The court passed the order on an application filed by Budaun district coordinator of Bajrang Dal Ujjawal Gupta.
Budaun Additional SP (ASP) Krishna Kumar Pushkar said the case had been registered under Section 124-A of IPC.
In his application,Gupta had alleged that Azam Khan had visited Budaun to take part in an agitation on December 21. While speaking to media persons there,he had commented that Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad belonged to Kashmir and was not an Indian national,Gupta claimed.
