Arvind,Sukanya win half marathon

A Half Marathon—‘Prerna 2009’ was organised at Lucknow on Sunday. The event was flagged off at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium at 6.30 am. The 21.097 km Half Marathon was organised by UPSAINIAN a body of alumni of the Uttar Pradesh Sainik School,Lucknow to commemorate the 50th year of the establishment of the school. Arvind Kumar Yadav emerged winner in the men’s section and became richer by Rs 1 lakh for his efforts. Elam Singh who stood second was awarded a sum of Rs 50,000 while Santosh Kumar Patel stood third. In the women’s section,Sukanya Mall bagged the top honours.

The Results: Half Marathon (men’s group): 1st Arvind Kumar Yadav (1:02:18 sec),2nd Elam Singh (1:02:19 sec),3rd Santosh Kumar Patel (1:02:20 sec);

Half Marathon (women’s group): 1st Sukanya Mall (1:15:30.3 sec); 2nd Sunita,3rd Vineeta;

5 km run (boys under-18): 1st. Ravi Patel,2nd Praramjeet; 3rd Yogendra;

5km run (Girls under-18): 1st Savita Pal,2nd Vandana,3rd Archana.
